Inspection & Condition Report

A documented inspection and a written condition report, before you buy, sell or insure.

What you receive

  • Confirmation of the serial number, make and model
  • A visual inspection, or a detailed inspection of the movement, water resistance and timekeeping
  • A written condition report with photographs
  • A record of anything missing or not as described

How it works

  1. Send or deliver the watch

Ship it to our office with a pre-alert, or deliver it by appointment. It is logged the moment it arrives.

  2. Inspection

Our technician confirms the serial number, make and model and examines the watch: visually, or in detail including the movement, water resistance and timekeeping.

  3. Your report

The condition report is shared with you in My account. Please review it and let us know of any discrepancy within 24 hours.

  4. The next step

Collection, onward shipping, storage or service, as you prefer.

Questions

How long does an inspection take?

Watches are inspected within 48 hours of arrival. A piece that arrives in the morning can often be examined the same day; please let us know if you require it by a particular time.

Is the inspection a certificate of authenticity?

No. Our inspection confirms the serial number, make and model and documents the condition we can observe and test. It is not a certificate of authenticity.

What does the condition report include?

Our technician’s findings on the watch, including how it is running for a detailed inspection, documented with photographs.

What if I disagree with a report?

Please let us know in writing within 24 hours of receiving it. After that, the report is relied on as the record of the watch’s condition, except for defects that could not reasonably have been seen.
